Recreational

(K-8)

For boys and girls in kindergarten to 8th Grade

For the seasonal soccer player or the one who wants to try soccer, this is your program!

Brought to you in partnership with Coerver® Coaching, “The World’s Number 1 Soccer Skills Teaching Method,” this 8-week program is offered in the fall and the spring for kids grades kinder through 8th grade.

The program includes weekly training with a volunteer coach (Coerver coaches with K-1st graders), 1 game per week on Saturdays, and an end-of-season tournament for 4th - 8th grade divisions who are a part of the Willamette Valley Youth Soccer League.

We’re a Coerver Partner club - and that means your player gets access to the world’s best soccer skills teaching method.

We value giving kids the “best start in soccer.” Kinder and 1st grade teams all receive one practice per week led by Coerver trainers. We are grateful for our relationship with Coerver and its internationally-recognized curriculum.

For players 2nd through 8th grade who are looking for a little more technical training, Coerver Training led by Coerver staff is available to these players on Friday nights for $120 for 8 weeks.

You can register for the extra Coerver training by clicking which time slot you prefer -

5:10PM | 6:10PM

Volunteer-led coaching supported by our curriculum and staff.

All teams play under the leadership of volunteer coaches who receive weekly curriculum from US Soccer, access to the Coerver drill library, and unparalleled support from our US Soccer-licensed program directors.

#SoccerSaturdaYs - the best playing environment!

These Saturday games are something special - we love seeing everyone out there in their jerseys taking the field!

Our team puts a lot of care into protecting the environment for kids to compete and learn while parents cheer, allowing kids to both have fun and grow from the life lessons that come from competing and striving to be your best.

There are a few differences in the K-3 league play vs 4-8th grade.

For Kinder-3rd graders, teams compete in the Willamette Valley Soccer League on Saturdays for 8 weeks. These games are hosted at Capital FC’s award-winning complex, Pioneer Sports Park.

4th-8th graders play in the Willamette Valley Youth Soccer League, which is a regional league with participants from the Willamette Valley Soccer Association. All games will be played at CFC.

Teams compete on Saturdays for 7 weeks, with an end-of-season tournament on the final Saturday and Sunday of the season.

Scholarships are available for those who qualify based on need.

  • This program is for players of all skill and experience levels.

Kids are mixed into groups of varying skill levels and most include players who have little or no experiences, as well as players who may have had experience with past seasons.

*For players who are more advanced or are interested in a higher level/commitment, we recommend looking into our Competitive, Pre-Academy, and Academy programs.

  • We always take a waitlist after the registration closes, and depending on a variety of factors.

Send us a message to join the waitlist, including your name, player’s name, phone number, player’s birthdate, and school attending!

Note: Registration price will increase $25 after registration closes.

  • If you sign your child up for soccer and then they are not able to participate, please notify CFC as soon as possible. Refunds can be given minus a $25 administrative fee prior to the season starting, once games have started, no refunds will be issued.

  • We organize players into teams based on the following:

    1. Requests made by parents during registration

    2. Geographical Location/school of Participants

    3. Available number of volunteer coaches

    4. Available roster spaces per team

    5. Date of registration

We will always try our best to honor requests as well as geography, but that does not always work out.

Regardless of team placement, the club will do its best to give each player the best developmental experience possible.

  • Typically, we DO NOT have players play up unless they fall under our “same-grade exception policy.” This policy allows players to play with their classmates, and the point of our recreational programs is to maximize fun, not create world-beater teams.

If your player does not fall under this policy, you may send us a message requesting to play up. These requests are considered by our Program Committee and a decision is reached after the case.

If your player is exceptionally talented, we encourage you to explore our Junior Academy, Pre-Academy, or Competitive Programs, as they may be a better fit.

  • There are different approaches to coaching young players, and we believe strongly in developing individual players through technical training and competence in 1v1 situations at this level.

We believe without a proper skill base, players are inherently limited in their future development. Physical size and team systems can cover over these cracks for a time.

With the proper skill base, players not only develop more fully, but we find that better soccer = more fun for longer.

We don’t expect every player who joins our rec program to play competitively or be on an “elite” path, but we do hope that every player walks away from each season loving the game and wanting to participate at some level again in their future.

  • You can find all this in our Parent Player Handbook here!
