Someone once said, “With gratitude, optimism is possible.”
Even in the midst of my most difficult year leading Capital FC, our club have so many things to be grateful for, including:
– The chance to play soccer this year. Whether it was a training session over zoom or a game with a mask, we are grateful for the chance to keep kids playing soccer this year.
– You, parents and caregivers. We thank you, parents, for dealing with the unpredictable schedules, changing guidelines, and prioritizing what is best for the kids over all else.
– Our coaches, volunteer coaches, and admin staff. It’s been a year of new challenges and changing guidelines, but you’ve gone above and beyond so many times to serve our soccer community. Thank you!
– Our sponsors, donors, and supporters. It means so much to have our community believe in the mission of CFC and partner in new ways to continue closing the opportunity gap and giving kids the chance to keep playing soccer. Thank you as well to everyone who helped make our biggest fundraiser, the auction, a success this year.
If 2020 leaves us with all of this, whatever comes to pass in 2021, we know we’ll have plenty to be thankful for. And that makes me pretty optimistic about next year. 🙂
Yours in soccer,
