Fall soccer is underway…finally!

Kicking off September 12th will be an 8 week in-house soccer season set for kids ages 3-14. Below you will find details regarding each age group including how to signup, current COVID guidelines, and details on the season itself. Please note that there are limited spots available due to current COVID restrictions.  Teams will be formed on a first come first served basis. 

 

MIGHTY MITES (ages 3-5)

  • Saturdays from September 12th to October 31st
  • Registration deadline is August 28th
  • All sessions on Saturdays at Salem Indoor’s Outdoor Field (4701 Portland Rd NE, Salem OR 97305)
  • Sign up for one of the following times –
    • 9am-9:45am
    • 10:15am-11:00am
    • 11:30am-12:15pm
    • 1:00pm-1:45pm
    • 2:15pm-3:00pm
    • 3:30pm-4:15pm
  • Limit 16 players per session
  • Cost – $80
  • Free Mighty Mites t-shirt included
  • COVID19 Policies in place, including:
    • Symptoms screening upon check in – all players and spectators (and their households) must be free of symptoms in order to participate.
    • Sanitize hands upon check in.
    • Limiting spectators: Max 3 adults allowed to view games (masks required). Spectators must stay 6ft apart and stay in spectator zones.
    • All players maintain min 6ft distancing, only minimal contact allowed during limited portion of session (1v1, 2v2).
    • No high fives, hugs, fist bumps, huddles, etc.
    • Players under 5 are exempt from wearing masks while participating according to OHA Guidelines.

JUNIORS (k-5th)

KEY DETAILS

  • Games run September 12th to October 31st
  • Registration deadline is August 28th
  • All games played Saturdays at CFC fields (5201 State St Salem, OR 97317)
  • Cost – $125
  • One CFC adidas jersey
  • Players will have one practice a week, starting the week of Sept 14
    • Boys will practice either Monday or Wednesday
    • Girls will practice either Tuesday or Thursday
    • Kinder and 1st grade will have practice run by Coerver Staff only
    • Optional additional Coerver session Friday nights (additional $50)
  • Ran by volunteer coaches (coaches receive 50% discount)

COVID-19 MODIFICATIONS AND SAFETY MEASURES

  • OHA Guidelines require we limit the number of people at our complex. Therefore:
    • Practices:
      • ONE parent/guardian allowed at practice for kinder-1st grade
      • NO PARENT/GUARDIAN ALLOWED at practice for 2nd-5th grade
    • Games:
      • ONE parent/guardian allowed on fields for all ages on game days
  • All kids and coaches will be required to wear a mask on the fields if within 6ft of another player
    • This includes while practicing during moments in practice where kids may have limited necessary contact (i.e. scrimmage, 1v1, etc). For skill based work, coaches will be instructed on how to modify trainings to maintain 6ft distance to allow players to not wear their masks if they prefer.
    • Players will be required to wear a mask while on the field for all games. They may remove their mask while 6ft apart on the sideline. In addition, we are modifying the games to allow for more breaks for kids to take their masks off and breathe.

GENERAL COVID19 POLICIES AND SAFETY MEASURES

  • Players will have one practice a week, starting the week of Sept 14

Please note – Registration closes August 28th. Due to current COVID19 guidelines, all kids and coaches will be required to wear a mask on the fields if within 6ft of another player. This includes while practicing and playing. Practices have been modified to fit these restrictions and will allow for extra water breaks and breathing room. Each age group has restrictions regarding how many viewers can be on the field. Please refer to your age group to see these guidelines. Here are the following COVID19 safety measures –

    • Players and their households must be healthy and free of symptoms in order to participate.
    • Only necessary contact for players (no high fives, hugs, fist bumps, huddles).
    • No sharing of water bottles or other unnecessary equipment.
    • No headers or throw ins – no touching of the ball with hands.
    • Wash your hands before and after the facility.
