Parsons, who became the Portland Thorns FC head coach in October of 2015, led the team to the NWSL Championship in 2017. He also led the squad to the NWSL regular-season title in 2016 before falling in the playoffs.
Having coached professionally since 2004, he has also been with the D.C. United Women, the Washington Spirit Reserve, the Washington Spirit, and Chelsea LFC in the past.
“This is the fourth-such event that Capital Timbers and Corban University Soccer have worked together on for the Willamette Valley soccer community,” said Corban Director of Soccer Aaron Lewis. “We are thrilled to partner with Coach Parsons and to hear his unique insights on productive team cultures and player development.”
This event does mark the fourth event for Warrior Soccer bringing professional soccer players or coaches to Corban’s campus for speaking engagements, and Parsons is set to highlight aspects of a productive team culture and player development.
“I look forward to visiting the Willamette Valley community on behalf of Portland Thorns FC,” said Thorns FC head coach Mark Parsons. “Having positive team culture and developing players continues to be a critical part of our identity and I can’t wait to share the lessons we have learned over the last three years.”
