Most of you don’t know me. My name is Michael Rice. I am the Finance Chairman of Capital Futbol Club. My background: I own a public accounting practice that specializes in the non-profit industry. I have over 20 years of experience auditing and analyzing the financial statements of small and large non-profit organizations. I’ve worked with some of the best run organizations in the region.
The reason I am writing you today is I want to assure you, as the primary steward of your membership fees, several things:
- We build our fees based on the cost to participate. The fees you pay are directly related to the cost of league fees, player cards, facilities costs, insurance, modest payroll and other direct operating costs. There is no “profit” margin built in. We work very hard to keep your fees as low as possible.
- The Director of the club, Collin Box, and the rest of the Board of Directors, are incredibly frugal and take great care in what we spend your money on. Our coaches, Directors and staff all work for considerably less than their counterparts up north.
I tell you these things because I want you to know that we are exercising great care as the stewards of your club financially.
I also tell you this because I want folks to know that if they ever care to donate money to the club, it will go directly to scholarships to help deserving kids be a part of something that will benefit both them and the community.
I personally donate a considerable amount of my professional time and money because I believe in the power of our club to change kids lives and make the community a better place. I personally was the beneficiary of the generosity of others when I was young, and it changed my life. I feel a tremendous obligation to give back.
Please consider supporting the club with a one time donation or a regular recurring donation. I personally guarantee that every single dollar you donate will do directly to help keep deserving kids involved with soccer. We have great need. You can change a life.
