From the Director – 2018 Auction Recap

Dear Friends,

I am extremely pleased, and grateful, to report that our 8th annual Soccer Ball Auction was another resounding success! With the generous support of sponsors, attendees and auction winners, we raised nearly $70,000 on May 12, 2018.

Proceeds from the Auction are the main source of funding for our scholarship fund, which helps support 40% of the kids playing soccer at CFC.

In 2018-19, CFC will serve more than 2,500 players, ages 3-18 in our recreational, competitive and after-school GRASSP programs. We could not provide the quality experiences for our players without the continued support of individuals, businesses and foundations who believe in our mission and purpose.

The Soccer Ball Auction is our primary fundraising event. This year’s event featured more than 200 attendees, 25 live and 180 silent auction items in addition to a wonderful atmosphere and program at the Salem Conference Center. The Auction is made possible by the tireless work of our volunteers, led by the Auction Committee:

  • Kirsten Steketee, Co-Chair
  • Margaret Aeschliman, Co-Chair
  • Laura Linares
  • Miranda Cuarteros
  • Dawn Gienger
  • Trina Hmura
  • Kim Klotz
  • Margaret Miller
  • Madeline Nowell
  • Erika Martinez
  • Miriam Steketee
  • Crystal Zamora
  • Leticia Zamora

This year’s sponsors, Pioneer Trust Bank, Salem Emergency Physicians and Fiskum Buckendorf Group, provided tremendous leadership support and I am thankful for their generosity.

We look forward to continued success and growth of Capital FC and appreciate your support as we seek to better our community and our kids through soccer.

Yours in soccer,

Collin Box

Executive Director
